Educator, writer, and chocolate connossieur, Terry Portillo lives in a restored ranch house at the southern tip of Tornado Alley. In addition to her husband and daughter, Terry's Texas household includes a horse, a donkey, a pair of cats, a couple of rescue dogs, two chickens, and whatever else the wind blows in. Terry teaches English Language and Business Communications classes for Lone Star Corporate College and Global LT. When Terry isn't teaching, she keeps busy managing the accounts for their family-owned business ACU Air Heating and Air Conditioning and writing short stories and fiction. A five-time Pushcart Prize nominee, she has had numerous poems published both here and abroad, and has had her work featured on the Houston Living Arts broadcast. In her spare time she likes to swim, walk her dogs, read, study foreign languages (Spanish and French), and throw dinner parties for friends and for her international students. |
